Circles is a non-profit app. Advertising revenue from companies covers only the operating costs of Firebase infrastructure (database, storage, network) — no profit is made.

Company or organisation account?
Organisation accounts are for non-profits, associations, NGOs, and community groups that doesn't have business as their primary interest, and which has a real physical address. They appear in search results and can be followed by users for free. Posts are shown organically in followers' feeds.
Company accounts are for commercial businesses, that have a real physical address. Posts are shown as clearly labelled ads and require an active advertising subscription. Companies do not appear in the regular search or discovery flow.
